Contact Lead Source Tracking for Lead Providers

If you use lead providers, it is important to track the business that comes from each source. The Lead Source field allows you to do that with precision. Its companion field, Lead Description, drills down even more and provides specifics about the origin of your leads.

For example, if the Lead Source is “Internet” the Lead Description dropdown may contain these choices:

  • iLeads
  • LendingTree
  • LoanBright
  • Zillow

To analyze the numbers, you can use the two fields in conjunction with each other in Contact Finder (Figure 1):

(Figure 1: Contact Finder - Lead Source and Lead Description)

Additionally, you may choose to restrict the results to a given date range based on Date Entered (Figure 2):

(Figure 2: Contact Finder - Lead Source and Lead Description - Date Range)

Note that you can search for multiple Lead Sources and Lead Descriptions. For example, you can check both “LendingTree” and “LoanBright” under Lead Description if you would like to see how many combined leads you got from them (Figure 3):

You may also want to look at the combined results of various Lead Sources as seen in this example (Figure 4):

You may receive leads from a number of providers, and by using the Lead Source and Lead Description pipeline management fields, you can track business from those providers so that you know the exact origin of your leads.
