Follow these steps to configure Microsoft Exchange Server integration:
  1. Give each user the Sync with Exchange user right (see: Edit User Rights).
  2. Supported Microsoft Exchange versions include  Exchange 2007 SP1 and newer including Office 365.
  3. Select from one of three Exchange Authentication options.  This post focuses on option two - "Create an integration account with a strong password and give it mailbox access rights".
  4. Verify that EWS (Exchange Web Services) is installed on your Exchange server and that the enterprise has allowed adequate EWS access (see: Set-OrganizationConfig and Set-CASMailbox cmdlets). Note: By default Exchange does not restrict EWS access.
  5. Verify that EWS is secured with an SSL certificate from a reputable PKI issuer (Cimmaron Software uses startcom and verisign).
  6. Enter Exchange setup information in the Cimmaron company table (see: Configure Exchange Settings in the Cimmaron Company View).
  7. The Activity Category table controls how selected Cimmaron activity types are treated in Exchange. Verify that the default settings fit your needs (see: Activity Category Exchange Settings).
  8. Each user has the ability in their User Profile screen to select the objects to synch (contacts and/or activities) and the direction of the synch (inbound/outbound).
